For those of you that have never been to a Rad Rich show this is how it works. Every year Rad Rich puts on a concert in late August. There's 2 stages(usually it's at Meridian too). Lot's of different bands play and there are lot's of raffle, and give-aways Not all the bands there were Punk but quite a few were. I'm going to review the bands that were atleast close to Punk plus a few Rock-A-Billy bands. And please ignore what the flyer says. Bark Hard didn't show up... Again... Oh well.

One of the greatest things about this show was that the The Melvins got straight to the point, there weren't any opening bands, instead they played 2 sets. By the time we got inside at 8:30PM there was already a line formed in front of the barrier and it was rapidly growing by the minute.
So-Cal Invasion Featuring: Agent Orange, D.I., & Total Chaos at The Meridian In Houston August 168/19/2009 If you didn't make it to the show then you're probably wondering why Fear isn't in the title. Unfortunately Fear("Mechanical Difficulties"), and Bark Hard(Unknown) had to cancel. Despite all that this was still a mind-blowing show with lot's of great bands. You may want to make some popcorn and get your favorite drink because this was a massive show.
Note: The flyer pictured isn't the official one, it's one made by Tx Punk with authorization from The Meridian. Let's just say the official one didn't meet the proper censorship regulations in order to be circulated. |
