Saturday, November 3rd, legendary 1970s punk group, X, performed at the famous, Granada Theater in Dallas, TX.
Review By Abe Hill
The show was opened up with the punk influenced rock n' roll of Dallas's own, PVC Street Gang. With a great response to their performance, PVC got the audience warmed up for the acts to come.
The touring band, the all female indie rock group, Dum Dum Girls, from Las Angeles, California continued the trend and seem to gather a following of their own. It was also a hometown show for their bassist.
X, over the years, have not lost any over their luster. After playing a rockin' set at Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest, they still managed a great show in Dallas. John Doe was wild, Exene sung beautifully, Dj Bonebrake still tears it up on the drums, and for some reason, Billy Zoom made it a point to smile a creepy grin at everyone in the audience. For X, almost every song seems to be a crowd favorite, they even took some special requests from some audience members who saw them in Austin. All in all, it was a great night for punks fans young and old.
