This is probably the best example of a D.I.Y. scene, you'll see. 2 bands: Molotov Compromise(who were playing with The Misfits that night), & Roots Of Exile, come out to a skate event completely unannounced to anyone, set up their equipment through a small PA, and played a set for the unsuspecting crowd. The Turkey Jam crew has been talking about getting bands to play, so what better time for a Pirate Radio-style show!
Molotov Compromise played first. They played a few covers, but mostly originals. The skaters were kicked in to high gear once the frantic, Ska/Hardcore mix hit the air, most trying to ride the ledge in front of the band.
Roots Of Exile got to play during the "Old Guys" Division (18 and up). They ripped through somewhere close to 10 songs including "Chosen Destiny"(a song about skateboarding), "Front Towards Enemy", "Roots Of Exile", & "Houston Dynamo". By the end of their set the judges and volunteers had decided to continue the tradition of Live Music every year!
