The third day of Punx Picnic saw a bit of snowfall to make the cold conditions of the fest visibly official. None the less all the Punks rose to the occasion and enjoyed the final day of festivities which included Austin's own Punk Rock pride, Lower Class Brats!
Relatively early slotted bands like I.R.D., and Original Formula faced a slightly bigger distance in crowd than had been seen from the fest thus far, as most participants chose to enjoy the music and excitement in close proximity to one the numerous campfires. The weather may have slowed things down a little, but overall the bands soldiered through in their finest form while the audience spent time thawing out nearby.
It took a little longer than the previous days for the participants to really get in gear, but by the time On The Shoulders Of Giants took the stage in the afternoon, the crowd had finally been pushed into top form. They played a ripping hardcore punk set that included covers of "Filler" and "I Don't Wanna Hear it", which fit perfectly with their own blistering fast originals.
Lower Class Brats put on a tight set of featuring some of their most classic songs, and a number of new songs to be released on their upcoming EP. Despite playing at nightfall, it seemed to be a more reasonable temperature from the mass of people gathered to see The Brats, and pogo to the fiery performance. Highlights include: "Airwave Raid", "Sex & Violence", "Who Writes Your Rules", "Safety Pinned & Sick", along with new additions like "King Of The Droogs", and "Refuse Your Assigned Role". After relentlessly rocking through a crowd pleasing performance, and braving a bit of sleet LCB ended the show on the fan favorite "Psycho". After which the band took a moment to greet their fans, before returning back to the studio.
Unfortunately, by that point it was time to make the journey home, but I lucky enough to be able to catch a glimpse of Filthy & The Muff Divers ripping through a couple rough and dirty Punk numbers including a cover of Suicidal Tendencies' "Subliminal".

I'd like to say sorry again to any bands I missed, or neglected to cover for one reason or another, but it was a large event, and time slots were often overlapping. I'd like to make a few specific apologies to acts like Odor, Shut Up Sidney, Dry Rub, and any others of you that I may know, but didn't get the pleasure of seeing. I've heard great things about everyone's sets and look forward to seeing everybody next year.
