Legendary Skate Rockers Contortion playing with new, local punks Obama Nation at The Houston Skate Park! It's bound for some great times!
Now, all we need is some great Pizza! Oh, Wait! There's That too! Nice.

Obama Nation went on first. They played a fast yet skate-able hardcore. They got everyone thoroughly stoked! Even some of the youngest park goers seemed to be enjoying the music. Not only that, but they get to claim the rights(unless I missed this at the other skate & Rocks which is possible) The First Pit at The Houston Skate Park! Probably also the fastest anyone's ever broke the "No cursing rule" for bands.
Once Obama Nation finished their set the guys over at Pink's Pizza were kind enough to give us some free pizza, and needless to say if you've ever had their pizza; it was gone instantly.
Now, if you're asking "What does this pizza have to do with anything?", it's practically the official food of skating and Punk Rock! Besides this pizza is great. I don't a reason to promote good pizza, not only that they're cool enough to help put on these events!

Contortion Session played their first show since the reunion show at Mango's last year. They came out with all their songs as hard as ever. There's nothing like a little Trash/Metal/Punk mix to get the skaters going. Most started flying around the park at the start of their set, but for a large group the band was worth watching as close as possible. They played a new song "Old Man"(I think) along with the classics like "Relentless", "Chemical Valley", and their cover of "No Will Power"; apparently in an attempt to get Todd Prince on guest vocals, but with no such luck. They played for well over an hour, and ended about 8:30 as the sun set behind trees.
Go see lot's more Pictures!
