Despite it's explosive ending, the show started off small, but like all things you have got to start somewhere.
Unfortunately for Preacher, the first opening act, the crowd had not built up yet. Their raunching metal expressions they titled as "ghetto thrash" were exceptional for a small local band, but with too small of a crowd came with too little energy for a memorable set.
The show quickly picked up with the next opening act. Dog Company proved to me that they were more the well one of the most impressive bands in the Dallas punk scene. Good fast pace, amazing energy on stage, and great gruitar work. With good vocal harmony, their set left me damn well more than impressed.
After Dog Company came the Broadsiders, southern Oi! at its best. Their lead guitarist was more than amazing, and was a riot if energy.
The show really picked up when The Hellions hit the stage. The pit started with their heavy, pounding, and fast as all holly hell beat. With witty antics on stage, and humor in between songs, they made for a concert experience much like NOFX.
The venue then was about packed, everyone waiting to see the beasts of east side hardcore, but there was one more band well known as Death By Stereo. Great double bass kick, heavy guitar, and vocals that went from straight out of hell to harmonized by the gods. By that point, four fights had already been started, and ground breaking words were spoken by the lead vocalist. "We're fighting the world, not each other."
Their set finished, the crowd cleared for a smoke break outside, and a few more cold ones from the bar, but as the lights darkened, the floor filled, and Agnostic Front made their appearance. The curtains opened, and the music exploded into the crowd. There where punks there that sang along hitting everyword, some even jumping up and singing with the band on stage. "This is a message. This is for you. Never forget your east side crew."
Over all, a great show, with bands that are keeping punk great, and keeping it a threat.
