Epic Show Alert: Meatmen Play with Chelsea Hotel In Houston!

The Meatmen are known for outrageous shows on their own, so I can only begin to imagine the magnitude of this show.

Why is this line up that much different you ask? Firstly it's a big difference, and if you were truly in the know, then you'd already get where this is going.

Long before there was the Meatmen, there was The Pagans. Playing rawer, and more insulting, than just about anyone at the time(late 70's to early 80's), they would prove to be a major influence one of Punk's most outrageous bands to ever exist; The Meatmen. As The Pagans were disbanding, The Meatmen were just beginning, carrying a bit of The Pagans torch along with them. Aside from certain stylistic similarities, The Meatmen payed direct respect to The Pagans with a cover of their single, "What's This Sh*t Called Love"(seen on War Of The Superbikes Vol. 2), a frequent feature of both band's sets.

Fast forward to present day, and we find ourselves looking at a North Houston based band called Chelsea Hotel. A band fronted by Robert Conn of The Pagans that plays the best in classic NY Style Punk. Whether covers or ripping, new, originals. Among a few of those covers are classic Pagans tunes, and more specifically the aforementioned "What's This Sh*t Called Love".

Upon realizing The Meatmen were playing Houston, it seemed like the stars were aligning. Of course I couldn't help myself, but to harass everyone involved in the show; asking if such a line up was happening. Lo, and Behold it truly is.

Both bands are great on their own. Now, what's going to happen when 2 giant forces collide under 1 roof? Only time will tell.

Bottom Line: *in deep echo-y voice* BE THEEEERRREE! Walter's On Washington, Friday, April 22nd! Presented by the always amazing, Hatetank Productions.
