By Abe Hill It was a sad night as fans of the Dallas local punk band, Teenage Kamikazi, gathered for last show when they opened for Krum Bums and Citizen Fish. They played a great last show, and will be missed by many Dallas native fans, such as Jacoby Conaster, who describes the band as, “one of the best local bands around.” Jacoby went on to describe the show as an “intense crown connecting show.” On stage, you could still feel the anger that they displayed many shows before, but during their last show many could feel a whole new kind of tension mixed with feelings of nostalgia. But despite the tension, fans treated their last like any other show. The pit was violent, the fans rowdy, and at the sight of free swag, gathered at center stage, arms flailing. Despite the free merch, and the excitement of hardcore T.K. fans, heartbreak still existed within many attending fans. “I was upset when I found out it was their last show,” said TX Punk photographer Haley Pittman, “but I respect their decision, and I hope they’ll play again someday.” Zoltan, their lead singer hinted that it may just be a break, but for now, this looks like the short end to Teenage Kamikazi. In my opinion, they truly contributed to the Dallas punk scene in many ways. Comments06/01/2011 08:23
