One of the longest standing Punk Rock bands still around, and champions of the UK '77 sound, The Vibrators made their way to a somewhat last minute Houston stop. They crammed into the one of the smallest Punk venues possible, and it's a wonder it didn't burst from the surprisingly intense show they put on!
The Sellouts went on first, and played a mix between classic Punk and a more modern, anthemic, melodic Hardcore style. They played tight and managed a respectable half hour set of Punk with a sing along sensibility.

Alimanas were an interesting Spanish Hardcore Punk band that managed the first pit of the night in their ripping set. The music had a unique raw quality that's rarely found anymore, and seemed roughly similar to what would happen if you mixed The Misfits and Discharge in their respective primes.

ESE played a classic Punk style that infused elements of Rock and proto-punk. They performed with a profound sense of musical tightness, without losing any of the raw Punk edge. While their show was fairly even in excitement throughout, on the last half of their set neared the crowd seemed to stay a perpetual pit or slight thrashing state. They got the audience in a prime frenzied state, filled with energy for the prime feature of the night.

The Vibrators took the stage by wading through the crowd of rabid fans, and quickly began with such hits as: "Bad Time", and "Pure Mania". They played for over 10 minutes without hardly greeting the audience, but I imagine that was the better approach because nearly the entire time to that point(and even after) the floor was a swirling pit. A rather odd sight for a Pogo band like The Vibrators. They ran through a set of largely older classics like: "Whips & Furs", "Troops Of Tomorrow", "London Girls", among others. They added a short stint of covers to their show about midway which most notably featured The Members' "Sound Of The Suburbs", The Clash's "Brand New Caddillac". One highlight is of course the hit Punk love song, "Baby, Baby", which mostly showed the male audience members sarcastically dancing with each other.

After somewhere over 1 hour of loud snotty UK Garage Punk barraging, the band attempted to leave the stage after a ripping performance of "Automatic Lover", but unfortunately for them the crowd was apparently literate and read the set list. Citing that there were more songs to be played, The Vibrators didn't even make it off stage before turning around and picking up their instruments again. They blasted out a short stint of songs before ending the night on a perfect song for even new Vibrators fans to sing to "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah".
*still pogoing a week later* See all the crap I am too incompetent to mention in the Pictures!
